What we learned about the ingredients we had been using was shocking. We are appalled by what we were putting on/into our bodies through our skin. Many ingredients are known to be damaging, drying and cancel out the benefits of the good ingredients and yet they are widely used.
With so little ingredient regulation, it is easy to be won by creative marketing and confused by buzz words. We need to be different. We choose our words carefully. To be transparent and simplistic. We want you to have all of the information you need to make an educated decision about what is right for you and your skin.
02 - Replace
We didn’t just eliminate harmful ingredients from our regimen, we replaced them with quality ingredients. Our passion for only consuming clean ingredients led us to craft products to nourish our skin rooted in the amazing benefits of ingredients from the earth including organic oils, essential oils, butters, beeswax, plants and roots.
We choose products that nurture and care for your temple. We do our best to keep sustainability in mind when we choose products that are harvested from the earth and the people that harvest them.
03 - Freedom
We made a commitment to craft products that were not only amazing for our skin and bodies but performed even better than big box shelf alternatives.
Instead of petroleum, we use beeswax to draw and seal the nourishing ingredients into skin. Petroleum, or crude oil, is a fossil fuel. When used in skincare, it sits on top of the skin, tricking it into thinking it got hydrated.
Instead of fillers, we use concentrated formulas that our skin recognizes and allows to sink deep. We don’t see the value in creating more volume, but rather concentrated quality that requires less per each application.
Instead of Dyes, we celebrate the Natural Color of Natural Ingredients. Dyes used in cosmetics are often synthetic chemicals and it takes a synthetic cocktail to create just one. They are skin irritants and unnecessary.
Instead of perfumes, we use essential oils to create scent. Perfume oils are inexpensive toxic chemical cocktails that sting noses, stress the immune system and can even create illness. Essential oils not only smell wonderful but have added benefits for skin.
NO HARMFUL PRESERVATIVES
Instead of chemical preservatives, we use vitamins and small batches. Many preservatives used in cosmetics are synthetic chemical cocktails that are skin irritants, skin penetrators, endocrine disrupters and carcinogenic.
NO MINERAL OIL
Instead of mineral oil we use nourishing oils that sink deep to feed skin. Mineral oil is a petroleum by-product that sits on top of skin and clogs pores. It is inexpensive oil yet it costs the skin dearly.
We don’t test on animals. In fact, everything we craft or adopt are products we wish to use ourselves, so your testers are us.
We partner with companies that employ sustainable methods to harvest natural ingredients in a responsible manner.
We choose cold-pressed, expeller-pressed and steam-distilled oils and essential oils as well as plants and roots that are renewable.
We use ingredients that are alive, come from the earth and nourish with naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.
Why we do what we do
We are a small family owned and operated company. Our foundation for our company is the same as our faith: to love. Nash and Jones exists to love others. That is the root to everything we do. We treat everyone with work with the utmost respect. We craft products that nurture and care for your temple. We do our best to keep sustainability in mind when we choose products that are harvested from the earth and the people that harvest them. Love sometimes costs our company dollars. In fact, it often does. It isn’t the most economical approach to running a financially successful company. It’s the right approach to successfully love others.
Our company goes way beyond eye crème, cleansers and sponges. Those are the tools that lead up to and let us love others. They open us to conversations about self worth and truth. The products are an extension of our arms that give you a hug when we aren’t there. We designed them to deliver goodness to you continually, long after we part ways from a transaction. Jesus does this for us and we are gifted by him to pass it along to others.
